Part of being a polymath is the ability to stay in the moment. To be fluid.
Bruce Lee once said that you should be like water. Water can go anywhere and conforms to whatever situation it's confronted with. Because of that, water can go almost anywhere; do almost anything. This is the mindset that a polymath must take into every encounter.
Every time you do something, you should do you do it with a fresh set of eyes. Don't think for a second that whatever strategy--whatever process--that you used the last time is going to get you through this new scenario. Now you may be able to use similar tools and similar tactics. Sure. But tailoring your solution to the problem is the best way to come with the most effective result.
